A PATCHWORK OF STORIES

Two little bundles of fluff have abandoned their designated bed and taken to sleeping in the bath instead. I've had to add the towel as they were just sleeping on the cold surface - awww kind of cute. Just as well I have a separate shower.

Getting started

This blog will probably be about all sorts of things from grandchildren and pets to my interest groups including quilting, the Red Hat Society, Christianity and politics. Quite a mix really. Hopefully it will be interesting.

This has been my first weekend with Molly and Norris - two little kittens. Norris is ginger, Molly is dark grey with bits of light grey and I think a touch of soft ginger in one or two places. As I write they are play fighting at my feet so I have gained a few more scratches to add to the many I already have. They are delightful to watch as they dart around the lounge at 100 mph! Mingus has taken himself off outside. He is not too sure what to make of these little creatures as his previous playmates were the same size and same age as him.

I have had a busy weekend. Yesterday was full with grandchildren (and their respective mothers) coming to visit the kittens. But I also managed to make a start on my Christmas decorations, do a bit of shopping with a friend, sewing some Christmas gift projects and cooking a Persian meal for my parents. Very satisfying. Today was quieter - vacuuming, finishing the decorating, finishing the Christmas project, Church, and almost finishing another quilt. I even managed to pull a few weeds.

This is the first time in my children's living memory that I am not putting up a tree this Christmas. I decided it just isnt worth it with two very playful kittens in the house. I have some beautiful decorations but they can just stay in the box this time. Next year they can come out again. However, my house is still decorated - Santa Bears (27 of them), angels, Nativity scene and other ornaments are all on display.

Two very tired little kittens are now sound asleep on my knee making typing rather difficult. Will have to stop for now - more next time.
